Go Embroidery Chic This Year

0

I honestly never thought I would fall for embroidered details in fashion. Well, I did and I now this is one of the hottest trends this upcoming spring and summer. The fun part is that you can be how creative you want with the embroidery. Go wild and put on a jacket or pants covered with embroidery or tone it down a bit with a simple look and wear either an embroidered purse/bag or shoes with it.

Personally, I love the combination of denim and embroidery. Put on a pair of baggy jeans with embroidery details added to it with a cute simple t-shirt. If it’s chilly outside matching with a semi oversized blazer would look great. Rock that outfit together with simple sneakers or slip-ons. Also, I really have to point out the sleeves on the Miss Selfridge blazer. Cute, fun details that are very in right now.

Perfect outfit for going shopping, a simple celebration or school when you don’t to feel to overdressed for the occasion.

Another way of using embroidery in your look is to add it to and accessory of yours, like a bag. Below I went for a fun, evening chic style. With the amazing embroidered mini denim bag, I put together some light washed, ripped jeans from the super popular Swedish brand NA-KD. Combine with a oversized sweater, t-shirt or this gorgeous crème blazer kimono.

Work this fabulous outfit with comfortable pumps and some big sunglasses, and you will look stunning to the next lunch in the city.

Don’t forget that you can mix and match and go for whatever direction the occasion is suitable for. Just have fun with it. People passing you by will be instantly alerted of the jaw dropping gorgeousness walking past them!

Red’s pizza

0

Are you craving Swedish Pizza under the Los Angeles sun or maybe you’ve never tried it before but really want to? Well, that can be solved right away (if you’re in LA). Just head over to Red’s Pizza on Pico Blvd in Santa Monica. You will find the typical food served in Swedish Pizzerias, such as their ‘’Madison Pizza’’ which is their kebab pizza, their ‘’Garland Pizza’’ which is a beef with béarnaise sauce pizza and also their ‘’Madison Sandwich’’ which in Sweden would be the so called ‘kebabrulle’. They also have hamburgers, salads and pasta, so the offer range is wide and there is definitely something to eat for everyone.

When I got the news that a Swedish Pizzeria had opened in Los Angeles, I couldn’t wait to try it out. I’ve been there twice now and I have tried both the pizza with béarnaise sauce on and the Madison Sandwich. Their crust is just perfectly thin, crispy and topped with all delicious ingredients on it makes it all so tasteful that you want to eat it everyday. The Madison Sandwich is one of my favorites actually and I really loved the bread wrapped around it with the kebab meat inside together with fresh vegetables and kebab sauce. Just to get that extra taste experience, I would have liked to have a bit more richness in the flavors, and also the typical pizza salad that is usually served with pizzas back home.

I like that the prices are relatively inexpensive. They vary from $6 – $15 depending on the size of the pizza and what food you are ordering. They also have gluten free choices to offer, which is really great. This place has a simple and clean interior with red details, which looks great and it gives just the right feel of a typical Swedish pizzeria.

The best part about this place is that you get the real feeling of being back home in Sweden, with their great food options, simple interior and some of the staff being Swedish. It isn’t the most fanciest pizzeria but that’s what makes it charming in a way, since many of the pizzerias back home is just simple and casual and they have really captured that.

So don’t wait out on that Swedish pizza experience, call a friend go visit Red’s in Santa Monica right away.

Flirty Spring is in the Air

1

With daylight savings coming up, longer nights calls for an evening with friends. Inspired by the new season, entertaining is in focus.

Why not refresh the dining room and host a flirty spring event? A simple trick to freshen up for the season is with accessories.  Beautiful greens and blues are seen in both the details and the interiors.

Vintage pieces makes an unique look and adds a more personalized look to your home. Fresh flowers also welcome a flirty spring look to any home. Visit your local farmers market and see what’s in season. That’s what I’ll be up to this Sunday.

New York Fashion Week – On the Runway

0

New York fashion week opened their doors three weeks ago and showed us the new trends for Fall 2017. I was excited over some of the designer’s collections, such as colors, styles and silhouettes. Even though fashion week closed two weeks ago, the fashion is still in focus. So what did we see on the runway?

Coats. I love coats and I will always love coats. We saw many different styles of the usages of coats but the silhouette was pretty much the same, which was simple. Since I’m Scandinavian I love simple and minimal. It’s clean, fresh and lagom (Swedish word for not too much – not too less). I’ve picked out a few coats from the Runway that really caught my eye.

All these coats look great and I love the different styles and colors. As you can see there’s a lot of grey, which is a huge trend color for this fall. That orange/rosty red color was also a color you saw in many pieces. I love them. They’re clean and minimal.

I picked out some styles that I think works great as evening wear or for the party scene this fall. The majority of them are from Alice + Olivia which is a brand that I’ve started following more since I moved to LA, simply because it was here I discovered them. They aren’t that minimal in their style but I really like their evening/party wear.

Sass & Bide

I would love to go out partying or go to any event wearing one of these pieces. I like that the colors are very much fall and not really bright. The shiny jumpsuit with ruffles along the sides makes the piece pop out. The details on Sass & Bide’s dress, is incredible and is really eye-catching.

So now to the every-day clothes, which I found very interesting and so gorgeous looking. I loved to see so many pants walking down the runway for this upcoming fall and once again the minimal silhouette. One thing I found really interesting and cool was the denim on denim. With a denim shirt tucked into the same denim colored jeans. It’s casual but still very fashionable, which was something Calvin Klein and Yeezy showed us.

One of my top favorite trend that is hot for this fall is the sporty touch interpreted into your outfit. I honestly love that idea. You will look tough, sporty and chic at the same time and who wouldn’t want that some days?

I like how the designers played with this sportiness and created it into different styles and wearable at different occasions. I think this will be a great deal and you’ll see a lot of it closer to fall.

Over all with New York Fashion week, they showed some great designs on the runway that really caught my attention. The trends that I chose to show you is my favorites from a Scandinavian point of view, although, there were a lot more embellished designs as well that I didn’t show you here. I still do hope this inspired you and helped you towards what direction the fashion is heading trend wise this fall. Fall is my favorite season when it comes to fashion and with that I hope I gave you the excitement of being creative this fall and jump on some hot trends!
